Proceedings from the “Human Rights Fireside Chats”
The UAE’s Permanent Committee on Human Rights (PCHR), together with the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA), co-hosted a series of informal panel discussions, or ‘fireside chats’, on Human Rights-related topics, held at AGDA’s campus in Abu Dhabi between November 2023 and June 2024. The British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL) provided conceptual input for this series and acted as a rapporteur of the events.
The Report “Human Rights in Focus: Towards Building a More Equitable Future”, is a compilation is based on a series of “Human Rights Fireside Chats” held in Abu Dhabi between November 2023 to June 2024.
The Report represents a significant step in fostering open dialogue and deepening understanding of critical human rights issues in the UAE and beyond. The DepHUB's Shamira Ahmed participated in the fireside chat on "AI and Human Rights-The Ethics of AI"
