Unlocking Development Through Data: Strategic Pathways in Africa and Key Insights from Multiple Stakeholders
On 13th November at the 5th UN World Data Forum, the DepHUB's Shamira Ahmed was part of a session that highlights the critical role of data and digital strategies in Africa's economic progress that is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Through best practices from national data strategies, including Uganda’s inclusive approach that engages government, academia, the UN, civil society, and the private sector, the panelists explored how regional frameworks can drive national and local progress, the successes and challenges of building data ecosystems, and how South-South cooperation can advance equitable, data-driven development across Africa – Speakers included:
